LOS ANGELES - In an announcement coming shortly after the North American debut of the sixth Fast and Furious movie, Fast & Furious 6, director Justin Lin has publicly stated that there will be another sequel to the original 2001 film entitled 7ast & 7urious, which he hopes will be released in 2015.
In addition to Lin’s statements about the regular cast agreeing to star in yet another sequel, he added that French electronic duo Justice will be scoring the film.
“I am extremely excited to have Gaspard and Xavier on board,” says Lin.
“I’ve been a huge fan of their music since ‘Waters of Nazareth’ came out in 2005, and I’ve always thought their sound would be a fantastic complement to the high-octane action that characterizes the Fast and Furious films.”
Lin went on to outline a developing scene that may appear in 7ast & 7urious, in which Dominic Toretto — who will again be played by Vin Diesel — drifts an automobile sideways over railroad tracks, narrowly avoiding an oncoming train.
“I envision Justice’s track ‘Stress’ to be the soundtrack for that particular scene,” he adds.
A reporter at the conference then asked Lin if he had any other musicians in mind to score the film, should his plans with Justice fall through.
“I’ve always been a fan of Creed,” replied Lin, holding back a smile.
